Carmel means an orchard or garden-Iand. As a proper name Mount Carmel designates a well-known mountain ridge overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Israel. Due to its panoramic vista and luxuriant vegetation the prophets of the Bible saw an image of God’s beauty in it and took it as a sign of God’s love and blessings for this people. It is on this Mount the great prophet Elijah established the worship of one, true God and meted out justice to the oppressed people. It is on this Mount the Carmelite Order, a Religious Congregation in the Catholic Church, had its origin. The members of this Order, imbibing the spirit of the great prophet, dedicate themselves to the service of humanity without any distinction of caste, creed or race. Mount Carmel School is an expression of these values.

The time of formal education is the most prime time of our life. This decides more or less where we would find ourselves in our life. When I refer to education I don't mean just school, books and the hours of study. It is more than just that. Schools are the second home for the children and for the teachers workshop to put together behaviours, etiquettes and other life styles.
Our former President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam who was a visionary and proponent of education believed that students play a significant role to transform India into a developing country. He would say that the best brains of the nation may be found on the last benches of the classroom. All of us do not have equal talent. But, all of us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents. Excellence happens not by accident. It is a process. The purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise... Enlightened human beings can be created by teachers. Creativity is seeing the same thing but thinking differently. Small aim is a crime; have great aim.
Mount Carmel School is a great place to teach and learn! We believe education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents. COVID-19 has changed our lifestyles and routine. It has created new psychological situation for people.We understand the challenges faced by the students, Parents and the teachers to cater to the academic needs during closure of school and adapting to virtual learning. However, the importance of education remains consistent. We need to be prepared to take life ahead with all our normal activities according to the new normal.Our talented and dedicated staff, both teaching and non-teaching, have been showing their care and concern for the students working from home preparing notes and engaging classes online for the benefit of students. I appreciate their concern for the students and commitment to academics.All these will also lead to imbibing of digital skills, one of the most important literacy skills of the 21st century.
